Kaizer Chiefs In Talks For This Prolific Kenya Striker, Look At His Portfolio

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly set their sights on Kenyan football star Michael Olunga as they continue their search for a prolific striker to bolster their squad. The club, facing challenges in securing their primary targets, Fiston Mayele and Tumisang Orebonye, is now seriously considering the 30-year-old striker, who is currently playing for Al-Duhail SC in Qatar.

According to sources close to the club, Chiefs have been struggling to finalize deals for Mayele and Orebonye, prompting them to explore other options. Olunga, a well-established name in African and Asian football circles, has been recommended to the Chiefs by scouts who have been closely monitoring his performances. The scouts have reportedly been impressed by Olunga’s strength, goal-scoring abilities, and overall impact on the field.

However, another insider pointed out that the financial aspects of the deal could pose significant challenges. Although Olunga’s contract with Al-Duhail SC is nearing its end, his potential signing-on fee might be considerable, given his experience and current market value. The source noted that while Chiefs are interested, the cost of bringing in a player of Olunga’s caliber from Qatar might not be easy to manage.

Despite these financial concerns, Chiefs remain keen on securing a deal for Olunga, especially if their pursuits of Mayele and Orebonye do not materialize. Olunga’s reputation as a prolific scorer, particularly with the Kenyan national team and in various Asian leagues, makes him a highly attractive option for the club.
