Kaizer Chiefs Fans Deserve Better: Are the Glamour Days Gone for Good?

Kaizer Chiefs are not called "Amakhosi" for nothing for decades this is the team that was kings of football in South Africa. The millions of fans of rally behind them speak volumes.

The club has over 50 major trophies more than any South African team in the PSL.

Just two weeks ago the team won the Nedbank Cup their first officially trophy in nearly over 10 years. Disappointing I know. It doesn't end there.

The team is left with only one league game and it's not even in the top 8. Does this mean the glory days are over?

This might just be the worst season for the team in the league with 31 points out of 27 games is unacceptable. A league campaign that many fans would rather forget. For a team with this kind of history, this isn't just disappointing it's unacceptable.

Nabi may have brought some structure and discipline, but finishing outside the Top 8 with one of the biggest teams in the league? That's not progress.

Kaizer Chiefs won even reach 35 points this season and their rivals Orlando Pirates and Sundowns are flying high. Sundowns finished the league with 73 points and pirates might finish the league with 65 points.

Every season the team is rebuilding and the fans are tired of that now. How long does it take to rebuild Kaizer Chiefs? The fan might act like their okay since the team won the Nedbank Cup but deep down they are tired of Sundowns dominance.

Also sick of the rebuilding phase of Chiefs. They're a brand. A legacy. A lifestyle. And what they've delivered in recent seasons simply doesn't match that standard.

Kaizer Chiefs needs stronger recruitment, strong leadership and a winning mentality. One trophy can't hide years of poor performances from the team.
